Craigslist Atlanta First: Your Source For Sports

The capital and most populous city in Georgia, Atlanta is noted for its recent rapid growth. It is at the center of the ninth-largest metropolitan area in the United States and has experienced the fourth-largest population gain among U.S. cities over the last decade. As a southern U.S. city, Atlanta is steeped in rich history and culture. More recently, it is recognized as part of the “New South,” along with cities like Dallas and Miami which are moving toward a more global role in the world community.

One of the popular draws of Atlanta is its multiple sports teams. Atlanta is home to Major League Baseball’s Braves, the National Basketball Association’s Hawks, the National Football League’s Falcons, and the National Hockey League’s Thrashers. The city is also home to teams in several less prominent sports, including the recently popular Arena Football League, represented in Atlanta by the Georgia Force. For those wishing to attend a live event, a great place to look for tickets is Craigslist.

In case you are not familiar, Craigslist is a network of site for communities throughout the United States and around the globe. Initially, it was founded as a resource for the San Francisco Bay Area in 1995. By 2006, there was a Craigslist site representing each of 450 cities worldwide. With a few exceptions, advertising on Craigslist is free, and postings can be placed in myriad sections, all organized into major categories.

One of these major categories is the “for sale” section, where users can post ads to sell items in any of about thirty subcategories, auto parts to video and photo equipment. There are also areas to post items that you are looking for (in the “wanted” section) or to propose trades and swaps (in the “barter” section). Also included is a section for people to sell tickets to events and shows, such as concerts and sporting events. With so many sports teams based in Atlanta, there are always tickets available on Craigslist.
